Smells very musty and it's not very clean.

UPDATE (08-31-2017): The Alco remains my favorite little neighborhood cineplex. Low traffic. Easy, nearby nearby parking. Clean little theaters with great image and sound.

This theater is very old and dated looking.

I think the Alco in Boynton is a great little theater. As some people have said, yes, its dated but when it comes to early bird and matinee pricing they beat Cinemark hands down. The cost of a matinee and early bird are all $6.25 until around 4 pm which is when full pricing starts. Cinemark only offers $6.25 early bird and then after 12 the pricing goes up to $7.25. The concessions are good. I feel Cinemark has better popcorn but I feel Alco has better nachos. Also the Alco also has better soda. As some people have stated, yes, the theater is hardly ever full and that's a good thing. Nothing sucks more than having to sit separately from the rest of your party during an opening night block buster movie. Furthermore, to the woman complaining that they didn't sell her a movie ticket 20 minutes into the movie, just because you're a paying customer, doesn't mean you always get your way. The theater has a policy that the employees are expected to adhere by. No fluffing of your feathers, scathing reviews online because you got your feelings hurt because you weren't catered to will change that. The theater did nothing wrong, besides, what makes you think your so special that you can come late to an event and be treated with special privileges when the rest of us were on time? I don't like sitting through the previews either, but that doesn't stop me from coming in early.

Good prices but a lot of old people. Plan on smelling farts and people talking during movie.

Movie stopped 5 times during first 20 minutes. Was fine after that. But no apologies from management. No attempt to make amends to a really disappointed audience. Great movie but management's lack of response to something that was 150% their fault is completely unacceptable. For an industry that's struggling to stay relevant, Alco Theatres' approach to customer service makes airlines seem like customer service rockstars. You only think you have a monopoly. If Cinemark drops their average ticket price by $2-$3 for 6 months, your business will cease to have a purpose. Learn how to provide customer service or find someone that does.

Overall, I like this little theater, especially when it's a pay week and money is a little tight and I certainly love going to the movies.

This week I saw films at two theaters, the Cinemark and the Alco. Hands down, the Alco Boynton Cinema is now my new favorite. At the Cinemark, the prices are high, the picture is soft focused, and the sound is just mediocre. By contrast, at the Alco the picture is crystal clear, the sound is loud and dynamic, and the concession and ticket prices are far more reasonable. Kudos to Alco.
