I often go to Home Depot because of a bad experience I have several months ago with a black manager. She was extremely rude and I felt it was racial. She was very nice to the black couple in front of me at customer service. Lowe's had what I needed and their plant department is much better. When that is the case I will buy from Lowe's. This trip was pleasant and hardware department was very helpful.
I like this store better than the Home Depot across Woolbright. I've mostly found help and those that did were very knowledgeable. I wish I remember his name but there was a gentlemen over by the home doors area that was very helpful, answered all my questions and gave me information I didn't know about replacing the front door of my home in Boynton Beach. I also had an experience where I needed pest control products and a different gentlemen listened to my needs and was very helpful in getting me what I needed. I find more help at this store than at Home Depot plus I like there layout better.
Most employees are helpful. Alex in plumbing and Michael in appliances were especially helpful. We are completely rehabbing a home, and in another the washer and dryer both died within two weeks of each other, so we have had a number of deliveries made in the last month or so. Lowe's delivery service has to be THE WORST in the nation at this point. They keep saying they have a new service; even the employees admit that their delivery service sucks. We have not had a delivery be within 3 hours of the "window" they give you. Twice the delivery was over 3 hours late, once it was over 24 hours late ("we don't have your delivery scheduled for today" when I sat with the associate and looked myself as she scheduled it). One MOD told me I was holding up the truck because she had to be on the phone with me as I complained, so it was my fault that the delivery was late. Only plus side, they gave us 10% off due to the delays, but that is not the point. I would have rather been able to spend that time with my family than wait on Lowe's.
I asked a random worker where the For Rent signs are located and, as usual, he knew exactly what aisle, and exactly where on that aisle.
The customer service was significantly poor. I was at Lowe's for almost one hour. The man at the counter was sitting down with other shoppers that just walked into the building. I noticed that while other shoppers came and were treated immediately, I was still waiting. Other shoppers were also having trouble with the salesperson. I hope that this problem is comprehensive and and is treated with ergency.
The cashier was pleasant and efficient and helped me get on my way quickly. And, there was no one in line!
I really like Lowe's. Sometimes their prices are even cheaper than the competitors. On this particular visit, they had all of the Xmas specials on the main aisle, and yes I did find some items that I needed, that I had no intention of buying when I first arrived.
